Rise above it all. Literally. Perched on a private mountaintop in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Above The Clouds is where families come to breathe again — to wake up slowly, gather without distraction, and remember what it feels like to be somewhere truly beautiful.
The View
Everything at Above The Clouds is oriented around the mountains, and once you arrive, you’ll understand why. The back porch opens to a panoramic sweep of the Blue Ridge range that stops people mid-sentence. It’s there in the morning with your coffee. It’s there in the evening from the hot tub. It’s there from the fire pit, from the upper deck, from the bedroom balconies. It doesn’t get old.
The Space
Inside, the cabin balances warmth and openness in a way that makes large groups feel at home rather than crowded. The main living area flows between a fully appointed kitchen, a dining space, and a living room anchored by a fireplace hearth — available through the cooler months. The upper loft offers flexible space for games, lounging, or an overflow sleeping area with a sleeper sofa. Downstairs, the basement game room keeps the energy going long after dinner — a pool table, arcade machine, and a family-sized sectional all waiting.
The Bedrooms
Four rooms, each offering something a little different.
The main-level primary suite features a king bed with hypoallergenic down linens, an ensuite bathroom, and double sliding doors that open directly to the back deck — the mountain view, first thing in the morning, is something guests mention every time. The lower-level primary suite has its own king bed, ensuite bath, direct game room access, and walkout to the hot tub on the lower porch. The two upper-level suites each feature queen beds with the same premium linens, a shared full bath, and private deck access with mountain views. A loft sleeper sofa sleeps two more comfortably. Every room has a smart TV and ample storage.
The Outdoors
Above The Clouds sits in direct access to the Benton MacKaye Trail — one of the great long-distance trails of the Southern Appalachians — right from the property. For those who prefer a slower pace, the rocking chairs and hammock on the deck do just fine. The fenced fire pit with Adirondack chairs is where the evenings tend to gather, with firewood always provided. The six-person hot tub looks out over the mountains. A propane grill, a swinging porch bench, and multiple deck levels round out a property that was made to be lived outside.
The private mountain road leading up to the cabin is accessible by all vehicle types — SUVs and trucks are welcome, and four-wheel drive is recommended in the winter. A gravel driveway with parking for up to four vehicles awaits at the top.

A Few Details
Check-in at 5:00 PM. Check-out by 11:00 AM. These times are strictly observed to ensure every guest arrives to a home properly prepared. Maximum ten guests. Gravel driveway parking for up to four vehicles — no street parking. Mid-stay cleaning available for an additional fee. Outdoor music welcome at low volume until 10:00 PM — no amplified speakers. Package deliveries cannot be accepted during stays. Smart locks with unique codes for every stay. Exterior security cameras on grounds. Nearest hospital: Blue Ridge Medical Center, eighteen minutes away.
Above The Clouds is a retreat for families and small groups. We kindly ask that it not be used for parties or large events, so that the peace of the mountain — and the neighborhood around it — is preserved for everyone.
Pets
Above The Clouds is dog-friendly. Up to two dogs are welcome under sixty pounds each, with a $150 pet fee.
